Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using findmysia.com (the "Website" or "Platform"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue using our services immediately.

2. Platform Description & Intermediary Role

FindMySIA acts strictly as an intermediary online marketplace that enables individual learners ("Learners") to search, compare, and book SIA certified training courses operated by independent education entities ("Training Providers"). We are not a training school ourselves and are not responsible for the direct delivery of classes, center safety, or student licensing exam results.

FindMySIA also operates a job board on which employers and recruiters ("Employers") may advertise security vacancies and individuals ("Candidates") may apply to them. Here too we act only as an advertising platform. We are not an employment agency or employment business, we do not act on behalf of either party in a hiring process, and we take no part in shortlisting, interviewing, selecting, appointing, or paying any worker.

3. User Accounts

To book courses, list training programs, advertise a vacancy, or apply for an advertised role, you must create a user account. You agree to provide accurate, current information and accept full responsibility for all activities occurring under your account. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that provide falsified registration details.

4. Payments & Commissions

All course booking payments are processed securely in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) via credit/debit card (Stripe) at the time of booking. FindMySIA deducts a platform commission from the course fees before disbursing the payout directly to the Training Providers in accordance with their provider agreements.

Job listing fees are separate and work differently. They are charged to the Employer per posting, per day of the duration selected, are payable in advance in GBP via Stripe, and are retained in full by FindMySIA — no commission model applies and no payout arises.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations and refund requests are governed by specific guidelines:

  • Cooling-off Period For Students: Students are eligible for a full refund if they cancel their course booking at least 12 hours before the course start time. Cancellation requests made within 12 hours of the course commencement may not be eligible for a refund.
  • Provider Policy: All invoices and payments for course providers will be processed and cleared at the end of each month. Providers will receive payment settlements based on completed bookings and confirmed transactions during the billing cycle.
  • Job Listing Fees: Listing fees are non-refundable, including where a posting is later unpublished or removed for breaching these terms. A posting expires at the end of the period paid for and does not renew automatically, and editing a live posting does not extend that period.

6. User Conduct

Users must not submit fraudulent trainer certifications, copy platform code/assets, scrape course or job listings, or engage in abusive communication. All users must comply with the rules and photo identification procedures required by the SIA and individual training centers.

In addition, Employers must not advertise a vacancy that does not exist, use a posting to harvest CVs or candidate details for any other purpose, or publish a posting stating or implying requirements that would be discriminatory under the Equality Act 2010. Candidates must not submit false information or documents in an application.

7. Job Listings & Applications

Employers. When you advertise a vacancy you do so as the employer or recruiter, and you are solely responsible for the accuracy of the role, duties, pay, location and shift pattern advertised, for your selection process, and for any engagement that follows. You confirm that the role complies with UK employment law, including the Working Time Regulations 1998, National Minimum and Living Wage rates, right-to-work checks, SIA licensing requirements, and the Equality Act 2010.

Where FindMySIA checks a shift pattern against Working Time limits and warns you or prevents publication, that check is a convenience only. It is not legal advice, it does not verify how the role is worked in practice, and it does not transfer any compliance responsibility to FindMySIA.

Candidates. When you apply for a role you submit your name, contact details, CV and any cover letter. By applying you agree that this information is passed to the Employer who published that vacancy, so that they can assess your application. That Employer then handles your data as an independent controller, and their own retention and privacy practices apply to it.

Employers who receive applications must use the data only to assess that applicant for the advertised vacancy, keep it no longer than necessary, comply with UK GDPR, and must not sell it, share it, or use it for marketing.

8. Limitation of Liability

FindMySIA, its employees, and directors shall not be liable for any direct or indirect losses resulting from course cancellations, trainer misconduct, center relocations, or a student's failure to pass their SIA examinations or secure an official SIA license from the regulatory board.

In relation to the job board, we are further not liable for the number, quality or suitability of applicants to a posting or the absence of any applicants; for the conduct, honesty or eligibility of any Employer or Candidate, none of whom we vet, reference-check or verify; for any hiring decision or its outcome; or for any employment dispute, claim or liability arising between an Employer and a Candidate or worker.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
